Sponsor Your Own “Spark” Program

The Tourism Innovation Lab’s goal is to inspire entrepreneurs, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and community groups to come forward with creative ideas that will generate new tourism offerings and experiences.


“Spark” programs are presented as partnerships between the Tourism Innovation Lab and tourism organizations, local governments, or private entities. Each iteration is customized to meet the funder’s goals, including focusing on a particular region or emphasizing a specific ambition.

When you sponsor a “Spark” program, your local entrepreneurs may receive:

  • 3 month mentorship with a tourism innovator, experienced operator, industry leader or sector expert, custom-matched to their needs
  • Seed funds of $3,000 to support tourism idea development activities
  • Tech adoption support and advisory services
  • Additional partner support and resources
  • Access to a network of tourism innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders

Each sponsor’s engagement level is tailored to their needs and desires. TIL handles the matching and monitoring mentors with participants, seed fund distribution, and tech adoption advisory services. Sponsors  typically participate in application review, pitch judging, and final meetings.
