From September 18-21, 2025, Hackforge was proud to set up shop in the Art-Windsor Essex (AWE) Studio for a DIY Light Up Pendant Workshop. The workshop was part of the AWE at Night – Night Light Festival. Armed with instruction booklets, video instructions, and many small parts, Hackforge hosted roughly 380 people over these three days. While building their own light-up LED pendant, attendees learned about basic electronics and circuits.

At multiple points during the event, AWE’s Education Studio was at maximum capacity! While this was a great sign for us, it might have resulted in some folks missing the opportunity to participate. If this happened to you, or if you would like to revisit the exercise, we’ve got you covered!
Below are links to the required materials, instruction booklet, and and step-by-step videos so you can build your very own LED Pendant at home.

Five people leaned over a table, focused on the projects in front of them. They all have an instruction booklet open and the table is filled with small electronic parts, copper tape, extension chords, crayons, and glue guns
