So were those computers intelligent? How did they know not only how to play the game\, but to play it well? \n\n\n\nThe answer is ‘Combinatorial Game Theory\,’ (CGT) and ‘Minimax’ (MM). Minimax is an implementation of the ideas about winning moves for zero-sum games put forward by CGT. \n\n\n\nIn this intermediate-level session\, Doug Sartori will walk through a demonstration of how CGT and MM can be used in basic games (think Go\, Tic-Tac-Toe\, and checkers).
