Join the Hackforge Membership Committee

Hackforge is launching a Membership Committee to develop the bylaws and processes that will guide how we welcome new members going forward. This is your chance to help design a system that’s fair, inclusive, and built for our community’s future.

The committee will work alongside our managing director and board members to draft new membership bylaws, review and assess applications for free, merit-based memberships, and help create a process that reflects Hackforge’s values.

This is a one-year volunteer role with an estimated 4-8 hours per month. Expect more time at the start as we build the framework, then less once the new process is in place. Committee members will receive a Hackforge membership, including voting rights at the AGM and access to new member-specific perks.

You don’t need governance experience or a background in policy. What matters is that you care about Hackforge and want to contribute. If you’ve been part of our community and want to help shape where we’re headed, you’re exactly who we need.

Beyond the free membership, this is a chance to build real leadership experience and add meaningful work to your resume. You’ll connect with others who are invested in making Hackforge stronger and be part of the team that sets the foundation for how our community grows.

We’re selecting 2 community members to join. If you’re interested, email our Managing Director and tell us why you’d like to be part of this committee. Applications are due April 1st and meetings will start later that month.

The new membership process will be finalized by the Membership Committee and voted on at our AGM in June. This is ground-floor work that will shape Hackforge for years to come.
